What to check
Look on the municipal account, title deed, approved plan or Surveyor-General diagram. Record the erf number, township name and extension, or the farm name, number and portion. A unit in a sectional-title scheme has additional identifying information.
Your next step
A street number is not the same as an erf number. If documents disagree, retain both and ask for confirmation rather than guessing. Partial details are enough for an initial enquiry.
